A friend of mine from Manhattan refers to all of Middle America as "Buffalo Land" (inspired by Dances with Wolves), your title also reminds me of "Autobiography of a Brown Buffalo" by Oscar Zeta Acosta.

This is one of the most perfectly-realized mixes I have seen, it is an example of what we are all aiming for.
Nice mix, I used to feel the same way about groups not having any roots, but there is a whole undercurrent of great country & rock groups which harken back to the beginnings. I love everything here with the exception of JB. Great mix.
