Aargh, I knew I was going to catch heck for something on this, but didn't think it would be that!

Nice covers mix! These are very hard to do well and I like the mix of obscurities you've found. In fact, you've just inspired me to finish my covers mix in progress, though now I'll have to take that Stereogum Radiohead tribute track off...

Really interesting mix--though I think some of the transitions are on the neck-snappingly abrupt side! Interesting pick with the VU track, too--the world did find out about the track in the 80s though it was recorded 20 years earlier...

Looking forward to listening to this.

Too long for a CD? Guess this makes it a Man Out of Time.... No, no, don't applaud. I'll be here all week.

Nice, but I thought the "King for a Day" track was going to be the one by XTC, which is an alltime fave. I'm not familiar with the Thompson Twins cut. I keep seeing these and thinking I need to make a response mix, and I never do it. Maybe now is the time.

Add me to the list of interested people... and you know I'm good for a trade.

Very nice. Hysterical track sequence, particularly first four track titles.

Ooh, cool. A whole world to explore of stuff I haven't heard.

Ok, the Clash weren't a band generally that I was ashamed to remember. If I'm ashamed about anything there, it is that until sometime in the mid 90s the only song I knew from them was "Should I Stay or Should I Go"--thanks to the fact that I got a ride home from school once with a cute girl who was blaring it from her car's cassette player.

Very nice, and of course you have to have "The Way" for ultimate sacriliciousness! But you're missing Tom Waits' 'Chocolate Jesus,' one of my favorites in this genre.

You'd dance to "The Thrill is Gone" at your own wedding? :)

Nice. and nice concept. Good stuff.

Once I finally got to listen to the whole MIA album, I knew that the banana skit should be on one of these mixes. Nice. Looking forward to hearing it!

Oh my. And damn you. Don Ho's "Shock the Monkey," with its lyric "Cover me," was going to be the title track on my next mix of bad covers. But isn't using Richard Cheese on one of these mixes a little too easy? :)

Nice closer, nice Public Enemy, and excellent Parliament track. But no "Don't Be Cruel"? I would also have to put on James Brown's "Don't Be a Dropout." Or maybe, as Sam Prekop says, "Don't Bother."

No--and I should have posted the link right away, but I ran out of room in the description. The full strip is funnier: http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=56 The author, Jeph Jaques, is a comic genius, and the art has gotten incredible over the three or so years of the strip. Highly recommended for fans of indie music.

Both excellent, though I have to confess I know more artists on the "pretty" disc. I'm surprised that Elliott Smith's "Pretty (Ugly Before)" didn't make the cut on one of the mixes...

I'm afraid to even listen to this mix. I used "I Found a Reason" on a mix and I can't ever listen to it without a lump in my throat. And of course Leonard Cohen in any song is fabulous. Good stuff.

Sonic Death: yeah, I know. Would you believe neither eMusic nor the iTunes Music Store has Killing Moon? I may have to buy a CD?

The aftermath of a big flood feels like the right time to publish my first mix in about six months. Happy time is one part of a two part mix. This time, I might not ever get around to part two, …
