This is an old mix, a tape I made in 1997, melancholy.

Compositionally it started with Cassandra Wilson's cover of U2's "Love Is Blindness": I wanted to find a way to connect the two. I thought immediately of "North Dakota," which a friend had (rightly, I still think) described as "a kick in the throat." The Graeme Revell tracks come from the soundtrack to Wim Wenders' UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD.
