Comment:
Click first track for download. Aside: Our next mix, tentatively titled "(Un)Holy War", is a dueling (although that might be too aggressive of a descriptor) cultures/religions mix attempting to find musical common ground out of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Could anyone with tracks they think germane to this project please drop them off at thenewleifallstars@hotmail.com. We would be most grateful for any and all outside contributions. Cheers.
Feedback:
Liking the looks of this, especially 5 & 13.
This looks pretty great, but as I'm familiar with only a small portion of it, I'll have to give it a listen...
I know so little it's not worth commenting...but, allow me to say that each track is perfectly chosen. My favorites are 1,4,6,7,8,11,14 & 15...I imagine...maybe....Botafogo? Didn't his wife get shot by Amy Fischer. I digress.
I was just listening to The Voice Of The Turtle only yesterday. Contrary to popular belief I don't always live in 3 minute popworld. For the next hour I'll be living in All Star Land. It's a lovely place.
A nice, bluesy trip around the world. I love Long-ge; a blues from Taiwan, wow! And did I hear some uncredited samples of "Whoa Buck" by C.B. "88" Cook at the end of Deja-Blues? I don't know about the Jazz Mandolin Project, though. I got this CD from our local library and found it rather disappointing...
Thanks for another exciting musical excursion that helps me to escape from work...
This was a very interesting and unusual listen. Many corners of the blues that I had never ecplored before. I liked the Mandolin Project Waits' cover and the closer in particular.
This is a fine mix guys, really well put together and almost all new to me. A great listen.
Ah, the blues are universal...
I've quickly gone through most of this mix - I'll give it a proper listen later tonight - but I'm digging the opener, 4 and 15 quite a bit.
Also, I've got this compilation called The Music of Islam... I can hook you up with it if you think it's pertinent to your upcoming projec, which I am greatly looking forward to hear.
Great mix, guys !By the way
the "Whoa Buck"sample is at the beggining of "Xenos blues" of Bojan Z, and is credited on the CD cover.
Cheers!!

Missisipi-Mali blues is great,
if you don't know the CD "Desert Blues" check it out...
Cheers!!
