Comment:

Motown, Atlantic Rhythm & Blues, Stax, this is where modern American music starts. The artist constantly exchanged back up musicians, song writers and labels. It worked. They cranked out hit after hit and it seemed it would go on forever. The first of presently a two volume collection. Full version for download under first song.

just listened today, lots of great stuff here. perfect opener, and loved the Eddie Floyd (didn't know the popular Amii Stewart version was a cover!) and Brenda Holloway in particular.
