Comment:
I must apologize for my absence, I know I've missed some great mixes. Just too much to do I guess, I have to get caught up.
On Wed. March 26th at 6:30 pm EST. I will be a guest on the amazing Psychedelic Warlords radio show on CFMU. We will be covering the world of Brazilian psych and heavy rock. If anyone is interested, you can stream the show live from the CFMU website. So without further ado: Ajuste dentro, gire sobre e deixe cair para fora
Feedback:
Awesome collection here and I have marked the date on my calendar to check the stream broadcast...and no, you rock!
I LOVE Brazilian music of many kinds, so I know I'm going to love hearing this. I'll have to tune in for more later!
Hey, glad to see this, Skipper. To quote Timothy Leary's Brazilian counterpart, I will tune in, turn on, and drop it outside. Muito bacana, companheiro.
Having dipped into these sounds, previously. I can attest, this is superb.
Very nicely done. For the show you might include something by Tom ZT; he is, in some ways, more radical than all the ones you've included.
Must be some psycho-active species flourishing in that rainforest! Certainly some active psych monkey songs happening here - thanks for taking the trip & bringing it all back home.
Every time I hear the music of Brazil it recall Jorge Amado, who wrote, among others, Dona Flor and he Husbands. Very evocative.
this is a genre i never really hipped into, though i've always been truly interested - just without a starting point, i guess - this looks like it could finally rectify that problem...
I'm thinking of taking Spanish lessons, now if I listen to this I might choose Portuguese instead.
I recognise just 3 of the 19 names here . . . thanks for the link, I can't wait to explore . . .
Thanks for the links - I shall make the trip soon!
Hey Skip, good to see you back. I love fuzzy music and I love Brazilian music. So I'm guessing this mix is gonna be a good'un. Press Play...
I need to check this out. That's about all I can say right now....
Oh my lord! This is amazing, Mr. Bartlett. I really enjoyed this especially that Pao Com Manteiga track.
That cover picture is so familiar -- I have that lp but I can't even remember what it is... Rubinho maybe? Anyway some terrific stuff here. I love Ronnie Von.
terrific stuff, Skip. Vanues, Kris Kringle, Modulo 1000, Assim Assado and especially Ronnie Von tracks all brightened my day. gift idea: I'd like to have that tree in my yard, please. just keep those fellows inside when you move it.
spectacular. a m·sica portuguOs T sempre o melhor.
