Comment:

All bands covered in Richie Unterberger's book Unknown Legends of Rock 'n' Roll and its sequel Urban Spacemen and Wayfaring Strangers. The Rising Storm song is from the CD included with the former book, and the Bobby Fuller Four song from the CD included with the latter. Those two books introduced me to so much amazing music!Link is to my blog where the whole mix is downloadable. The Outsiders (track 4) are the Dutch band, not the Chicago band that did "Time Won't Let Me".

I only know most of this only because of the kind folk of Art of the Mix. The Poets, Monks and Hazelwood picks to list three. Nice!

Great stuff, a lot of this I haven't heard. A+ for providing a download link. Wish all mixes would do this.

Oh man, I LOVE so much of this! I bought "Calm Before... The Rising Storm" at a used record shop several years ago and immediately fell in love with it. Really great tracks on this mix.
