Comment:

As the inclusion of a 13 and a half minute long piece by Alvin Lucier would probably give away, this one, unlike the last couple of mixes I posted, was not made for my mother. In fact, it wasn't made for any specific purpose or recipient at all. And as the lack of Kanji characters for the Japanese artists/tracks shows, I haven't been drinking enough tea. Although I've been drinking a lot of tea, I swear.
Title from the Red House Painters track.

Intriguing, this one. It will be on my lie-in-the-sun soundtrack tomorrow along with g.a.b.l@bs' latest effort.

I'm looking forward to this, despite your admitted lack of Kanji ;-)

No kanji, no katakana, no hiragana, just romaji - and that makes it a really accessible mix. I especially love music for amplified brain waves, enormously. Looks great, Alex.

Drinking tea is good! I love me my antioxidants. I really like that Alvin Lucier piece. The 11 to closing stretch is really wonderful too.

"Tea stimulates the humours & wise thoughts." Emperor Chen-Nung. Refreshing mix, discerning topic.

this one also goes really well with morning coffee, in case anyone wants to know. that Kim Doo Soo opener is one of the prettiest things I've ever laid ears on, and also loved the Bill Fay, Red House Painters and whatever that gorgeous thing was that started playing at around the 1:04:30 mark. which was that?

Can I just reassure you, first of all, that I have a somewhat large mug of tea next to me while reading this - though not green, it must be said, just regular old English Breakfast. Anyway, this looks wonderful; I absolutely love your Red House Painters inclusion and the Lambchop at the end. Very much up my street!
