Comment:

A bit of a labor of love. I burned a single-cd version of this a couple years back, but it was plainly insufficient. I've got a half-dozen or so Kinks tribute discs (of varying quality), plus God knows how many Kinks covers scattered throughout my collection. I wound up closer to three full discs this time around, but opted to make some judicious cuts and have a solid 2-cd collection. Undoubtedly the first (and last) Pop Kulcher mix to include Def Leppard, if only to prove that there is simply no way to record "Waterloo Sunset" and not have it come out beautifully. Best discovery in the process? English folk singer Kate Rusby's lovely version of "Village Green Preservation Society" (probably my favorite Kinks song, alongside "Days").

The whole Jam-Sir Douglas run looks most interesting to me, but there is plenty to discover here. Second "normal" mix to feature Def Leppard in less than a week. Hmmmmm...

Awesome!!! The only thing I miss is the Chesterfield Kings' cover of the rare song, "Time will Tell," a song that was supposed to be a follow-up to "All day and all of the night", I believe. I have the Kinks' version as a demo around here somewhere, and it's always been one of my fave songs.

Unbelievable. Well done. I'd love to get a copy since I've been trying to track some of these down for quite a while.

I just love these aotm "tribute" mixes. They're usually better than what the real labels put out.

Let's listen to this tribute all day and all of the night! God save the Kinks! Thanks for a most "unreal reality" tribute!

Wow, man, this IS comprehensive. Never knew so many covers even existed. I have that Sub Pop Kinks tribute and dig the Fastback version of "Waterloo Sunset"... even though I haven't heard Def Leopard's version I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's better.

This is the most mouth-watering mix on here in a long while. Amazing! Love to hear it.

I'll take your word on the Def Leppard. This looks, as blasikin says, simply mouth-watering. Good work!

Drat! No download "Klick" to digitally satisfy the eager masses. (That sounded sorta dirty.) Anyway, fierce work!
