Comment:
Unrepentant socialist, unabashed romantic, unflinching observer of the human condition, Billy Bragg is the overlooked genius in a T-shirt and jeans. Part Woody Guthrie, part Noam Chomsky, he's not at all shy about putting the boot in where it's needed. On the more personal side, his love songs range from restless musings of the ditcher ("Greetings to the New Brunette") to wry reflections of the ditchee (a reworked version of "Walk Away Renee").
