Artist Song Buy

Fronted by ferociously talented former schoolboy surfing champion Jeremy Oxley, the Sunnyboys rode a stellar train of early-'80s hits before calling it a day after three studio albums. A couple of attempts to revive the outfit would later stall, but the four-piece — who drew their inspiration from '60s garage rock and classic Beatles pop — lovingly crafted a heyday sound rooted in irresistible hooks and a supreme sense of collective cohesion: these lads were tighter than a bull's behind during fly season. After landing a contract with Mushroom Records in 1981, the Sunnyboys bolted out of the starting gates with a self-titled debut that has joined the ranks of Australian classics (every track on that album, from "Trouble in My Brain" to "Alone with You," is a scorcher), before following up with Individuals and then Get Some Fun (1984), which was recorded in the U.K.
