Comment:

While Cher first hit the bigs as half of a now-long-disbanded duo, pretty much everybody born after the Kennedy administration thinks of her solely as a solo artist. Well think again, and check out her partners from three different countries (and two different genders) in our Deep Cuts. Leather-lunged rocker-turned-crooner Rod Stewart gets his rougher edges buffed out with the ever-slinky Cher lounging it up in Rodgers & Hart's "Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered." Comedienne/talk show host/media maven Rosie O'Donnell amps up the BPM (and teams up with a much better singer) for a disco-friendly dose of holiday heartache in the synth-slathered "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)." And even though you can't sing along unless you parla italiano, Cher's cross-cultural crooning with Italian superstar Eros Ramazzotti in the bittersweet ballad "Più che puoi" ("As You Can") translates into a gelato-smooth listen in any language.
