Comment:

My valentine to the "soul songs" I loved as I grew up in the 70's. Some notes about the songs that don't seem to belong: QUEEN- A gospel-y arrangement that segues well with the roof-raising "Oh Happy Day". TOMMY JAMES- I used to confuse that song with "Suavecito"; they have a similar romantic vibe. BREAD- The swooping guitar figure and wah-wah solo give "Guitar Man" a sturdy family resemblance to Skylark's "Wildflower". B.W. STEVENSON- More Mexican than R&B, but who doesn't love yodeling along with that chorus?!?

This is great! I grew up in the 80's but my parents played this stuff all the time and i haven't heard these songs for years! Bet you weren't expecting a favourites entry on this one but there you go...
