Comment:

This was made without any real understanding of the classic soul/R&B era. As much as I wish I could say I grew up listening to Steven Malkmus and Chan Marshall records, I was raised on my dad's R&B tapes. Tower of Power was an essential part of my childhood, but I wanted to go further. I made this with what I think the old school Motown sound is in mind. I apologize if these artists are inappropriately credited, or if the titles are incorrect. Great.

This is great. Dad taught you well. Why not throw in something by Edwin Starr, who unfortunately died Wednesday at age 61.
