Comment:

This is not a bunch of cheery songs. The selections here describe death, hard times, depression era problems, war, struggle, and loss. However, I love the blues with a passion, and it should be about suffering, I suppose. Not all the songs here are "classic" blues, whatever that means. There are a few more "folky" incursions. Despite the gloomy nature of the mix, I absolutely love these songs and wouldn't be without them. I finished with a cheery one to keep everyone's spirits up! There's something about listening to the blues which can actually cheer you up. I do not profess to understand why or how, but I enjoy the experience, and I truly hope you all will too. Peace and Best Wishes from Scotland.

Dark as a dungeon, this one!
yeah, it's paradoxical, how come the blues don't bring you down -- is it maybe just the sheer fact that such haunting music was pulled out of such hard times?
