Comment:

I'm not Synaesthesic, but sometimes I can imagine songs giving off colours - here's a collection themed by: 1: They're some of my favourite songs ever (how much credibility do I lose for claiming Ride Captain Ride is one of the best songs ever written?) & 2: They all remind me of bright swirling colours (I only noticed afterwards that a number are about rainbows - I'm obviously suggestible). Some notes - That's the British Nirvana in case you were wondering, The Inner Thumb track is free on Amazon at the moment, and the New Folk are a psychedelic Christian rock band, but this is the only song of their's I have - did they ever match it?

"how much credibility do I lose for claiming Ride Captain Ride is one of the best songs ever written?" Why none at all. If this is your view on it, then it is so. This mix is bundles of joy, wrapped in sugar candy. Love the mix and love the motivation for making it. By the way, if you've finished with them, can I have my trousers back...

Just brilliant. Just wonderful. What a mix. Save for the drumming in 'Have I The Right' this is perfection.

I just can't get enough of mixes like this...

Been on a psych trip for some time, now. And, I'm not lookin' to get off.

This is a blast of sonic sensations. I'd 'a never thunk of some of these segues, but there are enough of some tasty treats to make me wanna listen (and with enough help, perchance, to see me own colors)!

You've got it!

"Franz Liszt, the 19th century composer, pianist, and conductor, saw colors in his mind's eye when he heard music. He experienced a rare phenomenon called color hearing, in which the senses become crossed and every musical sound is shadowed by colorful, formless visual imagery. And so, Liszt would instruct an orchestra, 'Please gentlemen, a little bluer if you please. This key demands it.'"
"Whenever I hear music, or even if I read music, I see colors ." - Messiaen

It just feels good! Lovely, radiant mix. Been listening to a lot of psych pop these days, so this really hits the spot. Thanks!

Fan-fricken-tastic, this is really super. I like the pickes from multiple genres that all fall under the psych pop moniker.

Like Nomates, I want to get in your pants. And then take them off while I dance around to this polychromatic smorgasbord or sound!

Why Jenergy, you're a very naughty girl. Which is just as it should be. I blame Surfin Dead and his groovy, provocative mixing talents...

Very nice. I personally prefer the pop side of the psych spectrum; while there is a place for the more garage-y stuff, my favorite late 60's psych tracks managed to walk the line between trippy headphone vibes and simple melodicism. Of course, some of this veers of a bit into sunshine pop territory, which I also enjoy, but I personally ask the question "Would I want to hear this song if I were chemically impaired," leading me to the answer -- Nirvana UK? Yes. Mamas & Papas? No.

Great idea for a mix, very inspiring. I'm not synaesthetic either, but I try to be sometimes.

Great stuff. I'm partial to Love, Flaming Lips & the Strawberry Alarm Clock. Including "Singin' in the Rain" was inspired.
