Comment:
A brand new mix - the Labour Rights mix. First of all, I want to say that I am sorry to have not been around for a couple of weeks passing along undoubtedly well to receive comments and missing some great mixes. I am sure there has been lots of great action on the site. What has kept me away is deep thought into the inspiration for this
mix, a civil lawsuit I have been involved with for the past three years centering on labor rights in Japan, particularly my own. The case finally reaches the settlement point this coming Friday. Although I was successful in my attempts to push a winner in court, for a friend, late last year, what has been a no brainer in my own personal corner has been one long drawn out hassle bordering on mistrial in its tribulation. Although my wife has been a great support throughout it all, it has come close to taking its toll on our marriage. The judges have indicated a settlement in my favor on more than one
occasion, and the other day my lawyer passed along to my wife that I was better at the game than the attorneys in Japan. Besides reviewing the case endlessly, paying attention to the struggle of unfair employment conditions under a gangboss, unfair dismissals, whistle blowing, impotent self-serving unions, bill collectors, the thoughts of internationally outsourcing myself, even if it meant joining the ranks destined for the Middle East, I have also had entirely way too much time on my hands and will be happy to face a regular grind once again. Man does not live on curling alone. Teaching English in Japan is a bit like being a whore. The teacher says "Oh, that's good, do that again. Oh, yeah, that. Do that again. Once more. Oh, good! Again!! Again!!" And at the end of the hour, the teacher sticks out their upraised palm and says "Fifty dollars." Special special thanks goes out to Ralph Carney for supporting me with some nice
tunes delivered snail mail and his permission with this artform for which I am gushing grateful.
Please be sure to listen and check out his website at www.akroncracker.com and www.carneyballjohnson.com. He is a true classic with an amazing amount of music history in his corner - please buy his records. This volume is presented in WMA 96kbps high fidelity and mp3 256kbps porky prime stereo.

Well kill that fatted calf -- Jonpoi is back! Another stupendous "tales of" another stupendous cover. I do believe you were allowing us an opportunity to catch up. Failure all round. By all that's holy, Jon -- you've still got it!
Furthermore, I love that Nouvelle Vague "Just Can't Get Enough" version; and Union City Blue is terribly nostalgic to me, possibly Debbie's finest. Yep, I'm a fully paid-up member.
Freakin' fantastic. Love everything about this....and, once more, the overall quality is simply spectacular. Truly admirable stuff.
Very cool, both thematically and as a listening experience.
Another great listen. Love that version of the Lips, Rock El Casbah and the Who. It was difficult as background music at work, kept stopping to listen more closely. Nice as ever.
Great notes & cover J - hope you win out right.
Gobsmacking. A great listen. The Tin Huey tracks are completely new to me and are both fantastic. In fact all the tracks I was unaware of on this are excellent. Props for your Talking Heads Jonpoi remix ( that really needs to be heard ), it's wonderfully entertaining. I could go on but I'll just leave 5 stars & be off....
Incredible. Rachid Taha version is new to me. Good stuff all 'round. 5 more stars headed your way.
Love this cover, this mix and definitely echo Nomates' sentiments on "Just Can't Get Enough". Wonderful.
