Comment:
Reprise of the Steamed Dumplings Mix. Hello to all my favorite programmers out there and you, too. This is one of the those very summer, very Asian mixes. With North Korea showing the the world how it likes to celebrate with fireworks, I thought it might be appropriate to come out of the smoke for a moment. This is not a stereo mix. That was lost in a crash. But the recovery managed one of those classics in a Pet Sounds mono stylee. So turn it up loud because it is worth it. The opening three tracks are especially for those looking for something they never heard before. When originally recorded, Legrand's Diggy Digster Low was something I heard waking up to as it was the BGM for a dream I was having. I was very pleased that it wound up as BGM on Japanese commercials. Where I live is the firefly capital of the world (that IS the truth) and we have had a spectacular season this year as well. So, thank you as always to the honorable Ken Nordine. Track 14 might actually be the Mighty Mighty Boss Tones, but the title is the way it was copped off the net, and the pairing with 13 is undeniably classically suited for this mix. Dunhill's trio oddly fit with Easy To Be Hard and as Asia is rather sentimental (perhaps even beating the UK's passion for sentimentalism in pop music), it made sense to leave it. The mash-up at the end is something gone wrong, but looking at the success of North Korea, even this effort should remain left standing for historical reference....I guess. The mix is a good one. It is available in WMA 128 kbps stereo depite the true mono nature. The MP3 version is also nice for playing very loud. Looking forward to being back and active regularly very very soon. Thanks for listening as always.
Feedback:
Spendid cover art and splendid lookin' mix. Good to see my friend. I will listen and absorb asap.
You always do fine work. Now I have a taste for kalbi and a Korean beer.
Ahhhhhhhhh, A Day without the proverbial second chance is a day without jonpoi.
I can't wait to hear this!
A
Intriguing, although I don't know much of it...
Can't wait to listen to this.
What the gnomeman said. You know I love that Asian stuff!
A great listen, start to finish. Great to have a new 'Second Chance' mix to listen to. Btw Jon.. The 'Magic Carpet Ride' in your mix is Norman Cook's 'Mighty Dub Katz'.
Good, very, to see you back...hope events are playing in your favor!!!
Filefries!!!!
Yes, this IS one of those can't-wait-to-hear deals. Will report back after being fully sonically briefed.
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk. Where's the mp3 option, kind sir? You usually offer both, n'est pas?
Hai, wakatta.
MP3 version available in about one hour.
Sorry. And thanks, everyone. Glad to see yall again. Will be around regularly in a couple more weeks.
This excellent warm wash feels great. Welcome back, sir.
(At the risk and certainty of sounding trite) Great fun!
