Comment:

For my great friend Jim k.! Although this all took place "Sometime Ago" and now it's "Gone And Passes By", he consistently shows me he has maintained the ability to "Love,Dance & Sing". Salute!

If I could go back in time for a few minutes, I'd be High on a Cloud, & smoking an electric banana!

Any chance I could trade you something for this?

You dawg! "Sometime Ago" indeed! You've placed my old assembly, "The Traits" among some truly olympian groups (for which I am deeply humbled) and brought some great memories to mind. Nice to see Gary Walker and Rain up there. He was overshadowed by Scott "Walker" (the greatest voice in pop music, bar none) and had a lot to say outside of The Walker Brothers. The Shag's "Stop and Listen" shared space with "High on a Cloud" on Pebbles Volume 5... definitely worth a listen. I'd forgotten that I'd played Count Five's "Psychotic Reaction" 45 so many times (back in the day) that I wore it down to an unlistenable plate of crackle and clicks, great song! The Raiders were actually a much better band than their persona's on "Where the Action Is" might've indicated, well produced recordings with a very heavy bottom end for those times. That's really a superb line-up (I hope it's obvious that I'm talking about the groups you've surrounded us with) and though it's probably not proper for me to cast a vote under these conditions, it looks like a "Mix of the Week" to me!!

This sounds like the soundtrack to a great AIP flick. Bruce Dern is in it. Groovy.

I must confess that my ether-based 3rd eye is blind to most.checks play-list again...ALL of this, V. I DO, however, have the good sense to rely upon the remarks of those (in the know) who have commented before me. And so (with the preamble out of the way) I say:
"Great mix!"

Magical Martian miracle mood music, man! Thank you!

Now having had the blessing of hearing it -- always essential for me with your mixes -- it's fitting together for me into a single story - at the beginning "she doesn't understand" & it looks problematic - but then "there she goes" trying it out & high on a cloud & "she's about a mover", ending up with a joyful "love dance & sing" happy ending. Well, that's how it comes across to me, anyway.

Not sure I sprouted a third eye listening to this but I think it might have opened a "third ear" . . .

Bring on the fuzz and sitar riffs - it's a psych masterpiece, and a journey worth taking. Interesting to see JDV's cmt here, as I was thinking while listening that tracks 7&8 reminded me of joey de vivre meets valis!Muito obrigado meu amigo.
