Comment:

That's right, your eyes aren't deceiving you. For the Wonder Years first mix of the year we visited 1929. Listen to this with an open mind and you may change your listening habits forever. Or at the very least enjoy what we were listening to almost 80 years ago!
Enjoy..

Yes!! I was wondering just the other day what ever had become of The Wonder Years; I was really starting to miss the series. and now, just as I was about to slip into a great depression, you've posted this! I love this kind of shit and I can hardly wait to crank this one up on my Victrola!

1929, that is when Bing Crosby was still cool. Good year except for that nasty stock market crash. Way to go, guys.

it's about damn time! i've been waiting anxiously for the much anticipated continuation of the wonder years series for what seems like forever now -- what i know here, i love; what i don't, i am immensely interested in...

Great stuff, indeed. (And I don't want to be splitting hairs, but the Boswell Sisters' "Rock and Roll" is not from 1929, but from the 1934 movie "Transatlantic Merry Go Round" and was released as the b-side of their 78 "That's How the Rhythm was Born" that same year.)

Man alive, you got that old-time religion! You're putting a lot of light-years on that time machine of yours.
Thanks for giving this up to the world, I'm linking, & I'm turtle twistin' the night away!

A 1929 anthology without Bix Beiderbecke -- unthinkable. Ha ha etc. I couldn't resist it. Ahem. This is quite the bees central leg joints. The really scary part, well for me at any rate, is that I know so many of these tunes -- worse, I actually have many of them in my "collection". What's that all about? So I say nicely done Wonder Years, and yes, keep 'em coming.I appear to be persona non grata at "Sendspace"; have you fallen out of love with "YouSendIt"? Oh well...

Oh wow, this is great! While I know some of it, there are some gaps I'd like to fill - so I guess what's so great about this is that although it's almost 80 years old, it's fresh too. Can't wait to hear it - and good to hear another Wonder Years installment.

This is excellent! I started a 1927 mix about a year ago, but quickly ran out of steam, so here's hoping that you guys can do it instead. The Carter Family deserves to be included in one of those late 1920s or early 1930s mixes, too. In 1929 they had a hit with "Keep on the Sunny Side."

I see dead people. But seriously, this looks stellar. I'm sure my grandfather was bopping to these tunes back in the day. The Tau Moe is especially intriguing ;)

Very nice. I'm sure I'd prefer this to the 2006 edition. Lots of favorites here including Ruth Etting & Emma Bush.

I'm not too well versed on music from the era, but the little I've heard I liked. Thanks for the download you guys. Looks really interesting.

the Jungle Band, Emma Bush and Lonnie Coleman stand out for me in this fine bunch. the music and styles of the '60s, '70s and '80s are continually being recycled in pop culture nowadays, so why not the '20s? I hope it's just a matter of time. a fine, fine mix, guys.
