Comment:

A sort of housewarming mix (hence the slogan on the cover artwork, which roughly translates as "YOU too keep the kitchen clean, comrade!") for Jean-Yves and Luisa. This one has no particular theme or agenda (except, obviously, to spread Maoist propaganda - but aren't all of my mixes just thinly disguised attempts to bring about a cultural revolution? I'm sure you saw through this long ago), is largely instrumental with a few vocal tracks thrown in every now and then, and might actually be a little too droney for their tastes at times, so I've also sent some stroopwafels just in case. Can't go wrong with stroopwafels, after all. And since I'm not the kind of person who'd pass up a perfectly good opportunity for a silly joke, some cookies filled with revolutionary slogans were also involved. Speaking of which: Title by Wooden Wand - thanks to Rob for the reminder that I needed to buy the Modern Containment series (from which the Mouthus track is also taken). Also, thanks to Barry for the Et Ret track.

You can download this one here. Only the mix though, not the waffles or cookies, I'm afraid. I tried converting them to mp3, but you know how it is with the evil candy industry and their copyright control mechanisms to prevent illegal duplication. Bastards.

Don't start the revolution without me. I'm a sucker for John Fahey.

I'm quite smug about the fact that I'm familiar with most of this and I adore the Singleman - Tunng stretch in particular. A splendid array here even without the cookies and waffles. Look forward to digesting it in full. You're more than welcome on the Et Ret by the way. Oh and come the revolution can Bono be first against the wall? I am a pacifist but in his case I will gladly make an exception.

Funny. Thalia Zedek named one of her albums after a message she found in a fortune cookie: "Trust Not Those in Whom Without Some Touch Of Madness." But I no longer show up for Tai Chi Chuan at dawn. Instead of exercise, the leader insisted on quoting from the Chairman: "Our purpose is to ensure that literature and art fit well into the whole revolutionary machine as a component part, that they operate as powerful weapons for uniting and educating the people and for attacking and destroying the enemy."

Stroopwafel sounds like the regiment from which Nazi Germany trained its military chefs...

Anyhoo, this mix looks most pleasing! There's a lot of great left-field mixes going around at the moment.

GambleOn: Funny, because it's not even a German word! (It's Dutch for "syrup waffle")

Strange and tasty. Come the revolution, perhaps Barry could just give Bono a good cock-punchin'.

The road to revolution begins with but a single mix (providing it's good enough -and this most definitely is!!)
