This looks suitably brilliant. Can't wait to listen. I can't imagine Alex liking the Pumpkins though. Does anyone?

Cool stuff, I am sure the tornado man will dig it.
To Sammy's question, on the AOTM 2006 stats, Smashing Pumpkins are the #55 artist, ahead of Nirvana who are #56. Who knew.

Luke, I'm honored. first of all, what a great color scheme. lots of my favorite artists here [Kate, Lee, Bjork, Julie...] so can't wait to hear it, and I'll be reporting back. to be honest, I've hardly heard Smashing Pumpkins, but I remember thinking that I sure liked the looks of them when they looked like
this. and I was glad there was an Asian guy in the band.

it's lovely. the Scott Walker, Piero Umiliani and Sarah Vaughan/Snow White/Julie London parts are my favorites. and that Whorehouse song is something I would certainly have stuck on a mix if I'd found it first. "you remember that tune pretty well..." coming in at the end of the opening track is brilliant.
as for the pumpkins, I've done some reading and now I know all about Billy Corgan's depression during the recording of "Siamese Dream," Jimmy Chamberlin's drug problems, and the failed romantic interlude between Wretzky and Iha. I even had a dream last night that I was watching their Greatest Hits video collection, and one of the tracks featured Corgan in medieval attire and samples from Diamanda Galas' "You Must Be Certain of the Devil." don't know what it all means. but here's something I found when I searched for the "Mayonnaise" lyrics: posted by zekey baby on May 18, 2002: "Siamese Dream just proves how much of a musical genius Billy Corgan is. Mayonaise is my favourite song of all time. This song hits me harder than a ton of bricks. When I saw it live, it was the happiest day of my life. Full of passion, sadness, and utter genius. I miss the Pumpkins with all my heart. But soon I will forever have The Smashing Pumpkins etched upon this canvas that I call my body, but they will forever be etched upon my musical soul."
