My nephew is in 10th grade. I made this mix for him for Christmas 2006 as an introduction to Indie Rock.

blonde redhead is pretty badass, especially for 10th grade listening!
If all goes well he will grow up to be a Pitchfork journalist. j/k he'll be way better off. Starting him off with Mates of State, B&S, Apples, Built to Spill, Eels, and the mother of all indie acts (to me) Neutral Milk Hotel is simply inspired. I hope for similarly themed success with my own children one day. Good luck
