Another g.a.b.l@bs & Muzag "alternating" DJ mix

Back in October, when we put out a narrow path, I mentioned that a follow up mix was in progress. It took a while to finish but here it is.

Synchronicity played its part, especially given Gene's latest (about which I knew nothing). Again the remit was an alt-dj mix in the ambient-ish genre. I was looking for unlikely sources and happened to be listening to How The West Was Won at the time which opens with LA Drone. With a bit of twisting I made it fit the mix. A few days later an attachment from the l@bs brought Bron-Yr-Aur to my mail box and I reckoned we'd get away with breaking the "one artist, one song" rule.
As it happens, and completely in ignorance, I grew up about 15 miles from Bron-Yr-Aur. And indeed, the lamb sounds used here come from the next valley (and so make a re-appearance here). Those of you who download this mix will find included GoogleEarth markers to both the lambs* and the cottage.

Anyway, not content with the "LA Drone" drone I took a sideways jump and wondered at the possibilities of making ambient music from Deep Purple sources. A progression clear perhaps only to myself. For those of you who aspire to having everything louder than everything else, see competition below.

Finally, the two volumes, a narrow path & a wider view can segue into each other indefinitely; so, no more music purchases necessary :)
All mixes mentioned here have been refreshed and are available for download.

* Disclaimer: Lambs visible on GoogleEarth may not be same lambs as appear in mix.

Mostly unfamiliar to me, save for the Zeppelin, Sigur Ros, and Lanterna, but it looks intimidatingly delectable!

I've this on headphones as I peck away @ my keyboard. Lots'a fun doin' business with you, again, Mr. Smith.
This one's even prettier than the work-a-day 64/kbps version (& I love those little Zeppelin lambs
accompanying that strumming baa-baa-baa'd boy, Mr. Page).

This looks very promising! I missed the last collaboration, and now I have two of your mixes to check out. I love a good musical quiz, and so I went right to minute 18 to figure out if I could recognize any Deep Purple. Child in Time is relatively easy to recognize, but my knowledge is not purple enough to recognize any of the other tunes. Wait, is that Hush? Oh well, I give up.

This looks incredible. I can only admit to knowing a couple of songs, but imagining their transitions has me all intrigued.

I should perhaps mention that all the competition tracks can be found on "Deepest Purple: The Very Best Of...".

Okay, I've done the pranayama breathing, poured myself an oriental white tea and donned the headphones. Bring it on!

Count me intrigued. Lovely cover and interesting to see Robert Miles pop up...

Oh man, I can't wait to give this a listen.

This looks otherworldly. Downloading, now. Report back, later. Thx for the share!!!
