this is a very spontaneous mix that i put together today. i think the gloomy weather may have gotten to me. some of these i have been carrying around with me for a while, and i guess this is an attempt to exorcise them. i had the rare joy of spending part of april touring with kristina aka whatever jailer, and simon from holy haunted head (he is currently making startling music with klessa now). i have been obsessively listening to sunset rubdown lately, and "snake's got a leg II" was where "stallion" is until a last minute change of heart. i really love the clanging, messiness of "snake's", but lately i live for the moment in "stallion" where spencer cries out "my god where i am oh my god where i am". the version of "landlord" is a live recording from "one more reason to forget" -- it is even more haunting than the original.
