Comment:
The mix title pretty much sums it up. My friend was running a speed dating event for gay men, and he called me in a panic because he needed background music to play.
I chose a mix of classic 80s songs (the Cure, New Order, the Smiths) as well as more modern pop (Frankmusik, Ladyhawke, Little Boots). I didn't want to do anything too obvious (thus the lack of Madonna and Britney), but I also wanted a selection of songs that people would generally recognize (thus the inclusion of "Valerie," "West End Girls," etc).
I think it went over pretty well. Hopefully many people began successful relationships to the sounds of this mix!
Feedback:
god, send me a copy. I need to start a successful relationship.
That's one of my favorite Cure songs... and it'd crack me up to hear that Whitney Houston song start up if I ever found myself at a gay speed dating event.
