i got the idea for this when listening to a cd over the weekend. my first inclination was to make a tape of songs about california. my memory failed me on this, so i went with songs that had some kind of reference to california or something in california in the title. this proved much easier. i know there are a lot of songs i left out, but i was limited by my record collection. i think it turned out well. i started off the tape with a poem fragment from kerouac. he also makes an appearance in the background during the jawbreaker song on side b. the title of the tape is from a led zeppelin song that a few people probably know...
