Comment:
This was made for a friend, who specified "Beatles-like pop." Not wanting to bore myself too much, I used the tracks on "Beatles 1" as a template: each track, in order (except for the last three - bonus tracks), parallels some aspect of the corresponding Beatles track: tempo, mood, some instrumental sound, lyrics...or some vague something or other.
Feedback:
Excellent. The stuff I'm familiar with is wonderful (XTC, Loud Family, Sloan). Liz Phair supposedly did something similar with the Rolling Stones'"Exile On Main Street" for her album "Exile In Guyville."
I thought Klaatu was the Beatles! Seriously...nice job -- and done without Oasis (nothing against the Gallaghers, but you could've made a whole mix this way with their music).
I think I'd eat a park bench to hear this......., whatta' my chances..?
