Ofra Haza (1957-2000) was an amazing vocal artist. Though her soundtrack work (Prince of Egypt, Wild Orchid, The Governess, etc.) is the most familiar to Western ears, she was considered a legend in the Middle East long before her untimely death. This tribute is continuously mixed and features a number of hard to find 12"/alternative/unreleased mixes that showcase her talents. The mix includes a Madonna cover and two tunes from a much sought after, underground album. This is Ofra, remixed and remodeled for the dancefloor!

Nice tribute. I had almost forgotten that she died. I think she's best known in this country for her vocal contribution to the remix of Eric B & Rakim's "Paid In Full"

Ah, wasn't she great?!? My fave is 'In Ta'aa', unbelievably funky. It could be Tel Aviv Rave music! Dynamic stuff. This list is brilliant. I miss Ofra.
