My mum is a woman of discriminating musical tastes. That is, she likes Bob Dylan, and that's about it. So when she's listening to music of mine, and hears a song she likes, generally I write it down. On this one occasion sometime in March, she approached me and asked me if I would burn some Bob Dylan songs onto a CD for her. Of course, I was more than happy to oblige. I took my list of songs that she liked that were in my music collection, and started to compile a mix, including the songs she had wanted. The result: a heartfelt gift from nowhere from me to my mom. She loved it.
