Comment:

Here's one to make even the record geeks roll their eyes. MOJO magazine, in its March '97 issue, inaugurated its Buried Treasure column, spotlighting an "Album That Time Forgot." (I believe I've previously outed myself on this site as the ultra-nerdy possessor of a complete set of back issues.) Now, when MOJO says 'Buy!' I don't stop to ask questions, and have nabbed several over the years. So here's a treasure chest mix that flows exceedingly well. I can only say, in begging your indulgence for my overindulgence, that this mix was a great opportunity to study many terrific LPs that had been too quickly filed, including the 4 Seasons, Gary Farr, Dion, Alex, Arlo, David C. and Richie H., and to reacquaint myself with ringers that hardly seem 'buried' -- Skip Spence, Soft Boys, Bee Gees, Shuggie, Warren Z., Keef and the Beatles. Apologies to Hawkwind, Lone Justice, Vashti Bunyan, Eugene McDaniels and Orchestra Baobab for whose buried gems I could not make room. Finally, if I manage to collect enough of the 30-odd remaining Buried Treasures to attempt volume 2, please feel free to stage an intervention.

Fantastic o' Obsessed One! The Zevon LP is a personal favorite, all the SAHB, Dennis Wilson.., and that particular Keef record is very listenable. Shuggie's work is a "lost treasure." Soft Boys..? You'd have to be where you see Underwater Moonlight not to know of it. Some just get overlooked because of their later work-the Bee Gees. Great work!

Hey hey hey.... great stuff here! Shuggie, nrbq (yay!), Skip Spence, Crosby (never thought I would like that solo album, since I largely gave up on him post-Byrds), Colin Blunstone, and more!!! Nice work.

Wow! I almost missed this treasure. Super mix! I love that timeless Millenium song, as well as Shuggie, Let's Active and the early Bee Gees. I've always wanted to hear that Blossom Toes album. You have all the Mojo back issues?! What time can I come over? (asks the fellow music geek)
