Comment:
THINGS: It's really really not definitive. "Definitive" would definitely require at least two very full compact discs, and I was trying to keep it short and sweet. My friend Steve who is a girl has always been on the periphery with Ani DiFranco music, so I'm trying to dunk her head into it. Considerations included 1) my favorite songs ("work your way out" for example) don't catch the listener very well unless they're me; 2) poor steve and her super-military family, she needs something like "subdivision."; 3) spoken-word stuff like "self-evident" and "my iq" don't mix well in the ears of most people - so I put "tiptoe" on there just to give her a taste of the stuff; 3) Steve likes sexy songs, hence "the whole night"; 4) She likes pretty music, so I ended it on "everest" because it's nice & lush & mellow & yes. I hope this catches something 'cause I spent a hella way long time on it tonight.

Someone once asked me to make them a "best of" Ani Difranco CD. It took me more than a week and clocked in at around 180 minutes, requiring 3 CDs. I still felt like I was leaving too many great songs off.

it seems like no one ever includes "garden of simple" on ani mixes anymore, so it's great to see it here. what I know on here looks great. bravo.
