Comment:

The point of this mix was to capture the essence of my enormous city, Los Angeles. Hence the eclectic nature of it.

Have you heard The Decemberists' Los Angeles I'm Yours? I can't say that it captures the essence of the city, as I haven't spent much time there, but its a good song.
