a mix for the road: for jaybird fred from shotgun & jaybird, sackville alt-country institutions. they live in a van called the road warrior and are moving somewhere else this summer. they don't know where yet but hopefully this will be playing en route. this mix: it's bluesy, it's drunken-piano and slide-guitary, it's everything i like. fred tried to cover cherry chapstick, the electric version, just him and his guitar. it didn't work so well. i told him there was an acoustic version, that's the impetus for this mix.go to www.shotgunandjaybird.com . listen to these guys. they're brilliant.
