Comment:

each track features at least one musician from the track before it (except, of course, track 1). and here's the rundown: the binary system is the brain-child of roger miller, guitarist of mission of burma whose bassist, clint conley, fronted consonant toward the end of mob's 22-year hiatus. consonant guitarist and backup vocalist, matt kadane (of bedhead), does vocals and guitar for the new year. the new year's drummer, chris brokaw (also of consonant), drums for thalia zedek who is also backed by mel lederman, bassist for victory at sea whose drummer, christina files (also the drummer of the swirlies), provides percussion for mary timony. mary timony formed the spells with carrie brownstein, vocalist and guitarist of sleater-kinney whose drummer, janet weiss, started up a band called quasi with her then-husband, sam coomes, ex-bassist for heatmiser. heatmiser's leading vocalist, elliott smith, (in addition to his solo career) produced and appeared on several tracks by birddog including "killer". birddog's then-drummer, glenn kotche (currently of wilco), joined jim o'rourke on insignificance (the album featuring "life goes off") and several other projects of o'rourke of sonic youth. sonic youth's bassist, kim gordon, played in free kitten featuring bassist mark ibold of pavement. after the band's breakup, pavement's scott kannberg started up preston school of industry with jon erickson and andrew borger of etienne de rocher. borger provided percussion for tom waits' album alice which also features bassist larry taylor who can be heard in canned heat's (appropriately titled) "let's work together".

I'm pretty sure I left a comment saying how impressed I am, because I know this must have been hard. I'm not sure why it posted.

This is very cool - obviously took a lot of work. And, perhaps exactly because of the concept, it looks like it flows beautifully. Well done!
