Let's Spend The Night Together
Comment:
Ah, the obligatory Stones covers mix. Less thrilled with this than some of my prior tributes (Big Star, Neil Young, Velvet Underground), but it worked out fairly well. As the Stones have less cred than some of those artists among the indie crowd I tend to follow, there was less to choose from. A far more interesting and sweeping job was done by Messrs. Moe & Mohr earlier this year

), but I ended up with surprisingly little overlap.

The artists you picked certainly have "cred"! Very nice.

Two songs overlapping, as far as I can see, plus about a handful we'd discarded. None the less a nice job. And thanx for the plug.

Wow. Jerry Garcia singing "Let's Spend the Night Together" ... strange. But I would love to hear this ... hint hint ...

I might go out on a limb and say that Gram Parsons singing Wild Horses was better than Jagger. Awesome mix

Really excellent work - would love to hear this. As far as I know I've never heard the Devo cover of Satisfaction, but I'd really like to!

Looks great Marc! True, there is some double dipping from the Covers of the RS mix (thanks for the props BTW), but you uncovered plenty of stuff I haven't heard. Jerry Garcia? The Supersuckers? Dream Syndicate? We gotta trade!

Rockin good stuff! I've always loved the Who's take on "Last Time" and also especially dig the Dream Syndicate and Feelies. And as always, great cover art. -Dale
