Comment:

Is there anything more cloyingly wonderful than children singing Christmas songs? Thomas Mohr and I don't think so, which is why we compiled this Christmas edition of Kids Rock! for your holiday listening pleasure. It also serves as a teaser for the official sequel to Kids Rock!, which should be finished early next year. Don't say you haven't been warned. Wanna quiz? Explain the connection between Pia Zadora and one of the songs on the mix. The first one to answer correctly gets a copy in his or her stocking.

That's Pia on track 5, innit? (Just had my annual viewing of "Santa Claus conquers the Martians".)

By the way, this is brilliantly cloying. And who can't love that?

Wow! This mix has been up for less than 5 minutes and we already have our winner! Yes, a pre-sex-with-a-garden-hose Pia Zadora appears in the 1964 film "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, " from which track 5 is taken. Congratulations on winning Sean. It couldn't have happened to a bigger Christmas fan ;)

By the way, I played that Little Marcy track at my last bowling alley gig - man, did the heads turn. It's a scary little number.

So cool, and still mildly creepy - though I think the other one has the edge slightly (possibly because of the cover!) This is really excellent work, guys - and it wouldn't be Christmas without the Jackson 5 :)

This is indeed cloying, but indeed wonderful (after a fashion). Happy holidays to you, my friend.

Scary! It's lucky xmastime comes but once a year . . . Except for a few of the Jackson 5, not too many of these performers had long careers, did they? Isn't that the same Troy Hess who sang "Please Don't Go Topless, Mother?" I don't think he had too many hits after that . . .

I'm listening to Troy Hess keening at the moment, and let me tell you--it's a holiday!

Superlatively evil. Nice tribute to the sort of music that makes it a little bit easier to be Jewish at this time of the year... no Santa, no tree, but at least we're spared most of this music. Unless they happen to be playing it at the one local Chinese restaurant that stays open for dinner on Christmas day.

You are one sick man!
I haven't seen Santa Claus Conquers the Martians in ages, and I never thought I'd be saying that with any degree of nostalgia... Oog...

it looks awful in a fantastic kind of way. Can I put it on my 2005 Xmas list please?
