Bravo Gerry. Wonderful series with, as Mr. Twang! says, cool cover art.

An outstanding four-disc primer, which-true to its own stated aim, brings to light a stunning number (over 100!) of groups who've been underappreciated, possibly undervalued, obscured by others in the genres and niches they've worked in, and seem to be sadly forgotten. Looking at all four volumes I sadly know but a few handfulls and that's the power of the mix-making of Gerry Mc'...he's an archaeologist of the best kind. A champion of these nuggets and pebbles which are solid rocks if we'd but only give 'em a chance. (Now, where's Scott K. with that damned lantern.., we're down the rabbit hole again it seems and the canary is still singing some Fat Mattress tune...maybe I can get Ion to hold it?)

The Valis one says it far more scholarly than I could. So I'll just say ditto him!

Wow - this is just amazing. I don't know much of it (which I guess is the point), but the little I do know is awesome, and the cover art is astounding!

I love the era you've covered on these volumes, Gerry. Quite a few names I only know from seeing them third billed on old concert posters.

Okay, I recognise precisely one name from the whole series... but it all looks terrific. Maybe I'll get round to hearing some of this one day!

Yes, I'll hold my lantern high for this entire series. Just when we thought you've digged to the bottom of the vault, you manage to scrape a little deeper. You're going to hit China pretty soon (or whatever country or body of water is opposite Scotland) Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you as well, Gerry.

It's all the great unknown to me, so all I can say is that based on the travel-poster cover, & the travel agent involved, I'd go there tomorrow!
