Comment:
When I started making mix CDs for my wife's yarn store, I thought there was *no possible way* I could ever make a decent yarn-themed mix CD. And yet, the more I rooted around in my CD collection, did lyric searches online, and solicited suggestions, the more it seemed feasible...and here it is. Thanks to Lipstick Vogue, DJ Palindrome, Jenergy, Moe, and Emily (not an AotMer) for suggestions and/or inspiration for lateral thinking.
Feedback:
i second curtis' remark. good work.
Okay, so my "Dream Weaver" suggestion fell by the wayside, but this does look like a nice collection. What about "Sewing (sic) the Seeds of Love"? ;)
I just didn't need to hear "Dream Weaver" any more, Moe. (^_^) But the suggestion did make me think of the Paul Weller song --
very nice! there's also a palomar song called 'knitting for pleasure'...
Wow, this is awesome. Great mix.
ha hahhahaa. good job. very good.
This is fabulous.
But it wouldn't be a theme mix if we didn't whine about songs you didn't include. Where's "Silver Threads and Golden Needles."? (-:
Keep the suggestions coming. How will I ever do a sequel? (^_^)
good stuff - does she play it?
When she is not playing Andrew Bird or Ted Leo albums, she is often playing one of the store mix CDs, yes.
Cool. If you do another one, Bob Dylan's "Tombstone Blues" might work. The second verse goes: "The ghost of Belle Starr she hands down her wits/ To Jezebel the nun she violently knits/ A bald wig for Jack the Ripper who sits/ At the head of the chamber of commerce."
Just perfect. Indie kids all over the world weep with pride.
