This is the first mix as part of the Human iPod Experiment. This was my original introduction on my website:

Whilst lying in bed last night, feeling sick and unable to sleep, I decided that the only vision I could see of humanity's future lead to ROBOTICS. Lying in my bed, my eyes staring open at my record "collection", I have a brainwave. I shall become the antithesis of the iPod, by becoming the auto-iPod! This is a fancy way for saying I decide to make a mix tape compiled ENTIRELY RANDOMLY by shutting my eyes, picking out a 7" from all my records scattered on my bed and more often than not, taping the b-side. (And no spoilers here, but some of them are AMAZING!)

90 minutes later, I'm done. I've experienced a whizz-bang tour of my musical history, I've laughed, I've thought "bloody hell, this is a good record after all", and I er, may have thrown a record out of my window in sheer bloody annoyance. If anyone in Peckham wants a slightly battered copy of Superchunk's Hello Hawk, then it's probably still lurking round the back of my flat somewhere. I developed a rule of ONLY ONE VETO PER SIDE. I have no doubt developed a very annoyed flatmate, if she woke up (especially if she woke up to the last song on side one).

As wild and wonderful as any of the "experiments" in recordomancy as I've seen here. Good go!

pure unadulterated praise for the railway children. this looks like a deviously entertaining project. i covet it profusely.
