That line from "Please Me Like You Want To" inspired me to put together these songs that blend melody and anger - or at the very least disappointment - into a sugary, salty Bittersweet mix.

Intriguing... notwithstanding a few artists I don't really care for, you more than make up for it with that excellent (and underused) Nilsson track. Nice wrap up with the Femmes as well; I think that's a band that doesn't really get a fair shake these days.

I keep meaning to write some kind of essay on the Violent Femmes, because I agree with popkulcher: they were an amazing group and aren't properly glorified these days. Also like popk. said, I can't attest to some of the material here (Timberlake? Streisand? Ben Harper?) but there are a few interesting gems that save it (like Bowling for Soup, one of their better songs, and The Cars), and I'm a sucker for mixes with that bittersweet overtone
