Comment:

I made this mix for a woman I was great friends with but also in love with despite the fact that she was about to marry a guy who clearly did not deserve her. I moved out of town a few days after making it, so it has a "moving on" kind of quality at the same time it's intended to subtly suggest that I was the right guy for her in the end. (Hence the Wilco song, with the lyrics "You're gonna find out it just was your friend" which follow the declaration of the title.) The tracks at the end of each side are poems from a recorded poetry box set that has been really invaluable to me whenever I have a minute or so left at the end of a side. The Air and Lauryn Hill tracks are sort of a reference to Nick Hornby's novel "How to be Good," which my friend and I had both just read.

What did you think of that book? I didn't think it was as good as his others (I have read all of them except Fever Pitch which is hard to find..) Great job on the mix

Yeah, it's definitely not as fun a read as "High Fidelity," the mixmaster's bible, and the ending is surprisingly bleak coming from this author. "Fever Pitch" is absolutely great whether you dig soccer (football) or not.

Sweet mix, Chris. Going from CRC to Skynyrd to Lurleen ... WOW! "14 days without a tornado."
