A handful of covers, a handful of pop, and a handful of . . . um, some other stuff. Title from the You Am I track, obviously.

Comment:
My student Dan loves Tom Waits, but otherwise listens mostly to hip hop, so I made him this mix of artists who influenced or were influenced by Waits. Thanks to my fellow mixers for many excellent suggestions, and to Jenergy for the Ken Nordine track. I received so many great suggestions that this may expand into a two disc set at some point. In the meantime, you can read the complete liner notes here. (Corrections welcome!)Feedback:
Wow! Can I reserve a copy? This looks like it came out really well.
Looks cool.
Wonderful project and result.
Turned out really nice. But, er, "Chuck E.'s in Love"? Hmmm. ;)
This looks wonderful, and I'm so glad you found a good home for Ken. I would love a coyp as well.
Worked out to be a great selection of artists.
Really interesting looking mix. I loved reading the detailed liner notes, too. I'd love to trade for this one.
fantastic idea and fantatic work
What good choices! it adds something to each of these to think of them all in relation to the Tom Waits nexus, & then it
expands my view of TW too.
expands my view of TW too.
Wonderful! Through the track list and liner notes, I feel I know a lot more about what makes Tom tick. Someday I'd like a copy. Cool web page too!
This looks great! I loved the liner notes, too.
Nice job! What a great way to expand a young person's musical horizons! :)
Great lookin' mix!
I must admit I'm not a big Tom Waits fan, but I like the groove on this mix.
Ramblin' Jack Elliot might be another one you'd like to include on a part 2. Cool mix.
