Comment:

My latest mix contains 27 tracks that I've been diggin' muchly over the last month or so. Unsurprisingly most of these are Pop songs, happy songs with a hook and the like. I keep promising myself I'll make a miserable mix one day. But just not yet, maybe I'll wait until winter. For now though, the sun is shining, and this is the perfect companion.
Oh, and of course Track 23 is a cheeky nod to happenings here at AotM over the past couple weeks - hopefully we're through the worst of it now..

As generally happens, this looks fantastic, Sammy. I've come to love Sebastian Tellier a lot lately, and have been listening to a lot of my older Saint Etienne as well. Ass-kickin', man!

Almost all unknown to me, but given that the pics are from a master, I am about to listen and learn.

Only recognise about a third of the mix, anything to accompany sunshine is fine by me though.

I don't get what people see (or rather, hear) in Sebastien Tellier, but closing with Sigur R=s is wonderful. And I love the cover.

Gurus, Saint Etienne, Plastic Bertrand (and not the obvious hit!), Gorkys Zygotic Mynci and a few other faves makes me think I'd like the stuff I don't already know.

I must say your efforts are getting better and better (not that they weren't good before). The High Llamas track leads the pack.

St.Etienne, that will please Kathryn. I don't know though...I mean what's to please me? Oh OK, there's the Brunettes, Velocette and Fantastic Something. And we've both taken a liking to the Mystery Jets.

ooh, great one, sammyg. at first I thought that Sigur Ros title was Icelandic. I'm excited to hear their new CD. Is that Erlend Oye song originally a Lee Hazlewood number? I think I have that on a CD, like "Cowboy from Sweden" or something. this is a lovely version. other shiny spots on this bright object were The Bristols, Mystery Jets, Noah and the Whale, El Joven Bryan, Plastic Bertrand... but Labrador and Milkyway were absolutely blinding. I'm still seeing spots.

As one who prefers miserable mixes, I suppose I could tolerate this collection of happy poppy songs (*shudders*) if I was forced to listen at gunpoint. Can't stand the Love Generation, the Bristols make me puke, the Brunettes make me wanna pull my hair out, Saint Etienne causes me to break out in hives and Rita Calypso drives me fricken nuts. I was watching the Tony Awards the other night (yes, I am a straight male), and a new Saturn ad came on with that cheerful Noah and the Whale song in it. I threw a brick at my TV screen.

Didn't know a track until the Gorky's. Great closer and I haven't pulled out Reed & Cale's "Songs for Drella" in eons! Looking forward to exploring the balance.

I'm a good week behind the recent 100 boards, which isn't too bad for me... Great mix Sam. More gorgeous melodies than you could shake a stick at.
