- Are carpets covered in a cleaning contract? What do you consider "wear and tear"
- Hello All, I would like to ask for your feedback concerning the cleaning contracts for moving out of an apartment. My particular question is in relation to the cleaning of carpets and the contractual guarantee to come back and clean again if the landlord is not satisfied with the quality. In the contract that we have received (it looks to be a quite standard contract) they will agree to come and do the handover with the landlord and will clean anything that he wants done again ...

- Dashing Suns Prep For New Album with Old Songs
- Bay Area beach bums The Dashing Suns will release their debut LP, Really Like You, next week. But before the band introduces audiences to their breezy brand of garage and skuzzy sunburnt pop, the Oakland quartet wanted to offer up a few reinterpretations of other people's tunes. First up? The ramshackle "Billy Two" from underrated Kiwi rock troupe The Clean. Next? A reverb-y take on downtown 60s icons The Velvet Underground and their classic "Who Loves The Sun." These tunes should whet your ... appetites until next week when the band will be streaming Really Like You in its entirety. - Amp buying, with questionaire.. hah.
- , and usually play shows with other bands who are usually willing to lend me a cab for a set. What amplifier(s) do you have/had and why do you want a change? Crate rfx65, solid state, it sounded like utter garbage. I only really used the clean channel, which was terrible, and ran pedals through it. I basically spent 400 on it, only to find that the crunch and high gain channels and the eq settings, the built in efx were virtually useless. Most of the tones on either channels were too muddy, nothing cut ... through, and the clean channel sounded dead and lifeless. No sparkle or warmth in it. It sounded way too compressed and "scratchy". Even as a solid state, it could not even play the genres of metal/core I wanted (muddy, nothing cut through). The only good thing about it was that it was loud enough to cut through the PA. What I want: sparkly, Vox-like clean. Doesn't have to be exact, but the ability to get something close. And for crunch, I want saturation, but not ridiculous amounts. Just enough ... AC15: Like: oh man... the clean channel was AMAZING. The clean chimey tones I could get.. it made my Ibanez even sound like a strat! The chimey, and "clickiness" of the note response... It gave me that twang, and spank that I was looking for in the clean sound. And the top boost overdrive let me get a lot of classic rock tone, or some dirtier blues sounds Dislike: metal. Cannot do anything hi gain. Can't even attempt to do anything modern. Tried pedals and eq's etc, nothing worked. Egnater ...

And while songs like "Conversations With The Deacon, Vol. I" are mind-boggling feats of musicianship, the song that absolutely floored me was "The Frontal Lobe A-Go-Go." What a fucking master work! - are old enough to have physically given birth to your husband? Moore did concede that the Clean Program was superior to the Master Cleanse, a diet she had tried earlier this year with husband Ashton Kutcher, in as much as it allows you to have food that requires chewing and doesn't typically induce comas. - When Festivals Collide and Freethinkers Meet
- By default and by design, there is no firm center of avant-garde jazz culture. Its music can be freely improvised or densely plotted, ecstatic or brooding, concussive or tranquil. So on some level it was fitting that an accident of timing brought an overlap of the New Languages Festival, in its fifth year, and the Clean Feed Fest, in its fourth. Both present a cavalcade of independent-minded artists, but neither makes any comprehensive claims. The Clean Feed Fest took place this year ...

- The Clean - Mister Pop (from Under The Radar)
- The Clean is a band whose members have no sense of time. It can take them years, and sometimes even the better part of a decade, to release a new album—their first full-length didn't arrive until 1990, a full 12 years after forming in New Zealand—and their records pay little credence to the era that spawned them. Their organ-laced, ramshackle early pop singles were like little else from the punk period, and their latest, Mister Pop, is similarly divorced from modern indie-rock, suggesting an......

- The Clean - Mister Pop (from No Ripcord)
- As surely as curious youngsters are digging through their parents' old Zeppelin and Creedence LPs, curious hipsters are downloading early Clean albums. It's as inevitable as the past is recyclable; the closer indie-rock came to mining late 70s alt-punk, the wider The Clean's comeback platform unfurled. And given the fact that Morr Music has recently dedicated itself to modernizing New Zealand's indie rep (last year's Surf City EP, this year's all-star double-disc covering New Zealand's alterna......

- The Clean - Mister Pop (from Pitchfork)
- Ah, the Clean-- the Halley's Comet of indie-rock, appearing after prolonged absences in a flash of brilliance, only to disappear just as quickly and practically be forgotten about. But if the New Zealand trio's output has been notoriously sporadic over their 32-year lifespan, their releases have been fortuitously timed to capitalize on their unyielding influence: After a brief string of legend-making singles in the early 1980s, the band's relatively prolific 1990-96 run coincided with the ascend......

- The Clean - Mister Pop (from Dusted Magazine)
- For 30 years The Clean have been the masthead group of the voluble New Zealand underground. Their first five or so singles, compiled on the first disc of Anthology, pretty much wrote the book for indie rock across the '80s and '90s (and much of the current American underground, for that matter), and their work as cultural ambassadors, though undertaken with absolute nonchalance by the brothers David and Hamish Kilgour and associate Robert Scott, has pretty much put NZ on the map as one of the ke......

- The Clean - Mister Pop (from Spin)
- The Clean's gift to indie punk was snappily drummed, gorgeously scuzzed krautrock pop scaled to human size by three male Moe Tuckers trading vocals like they just wandered in from the beach. But the band's first studio album in eight years takes the Farfisa-surf luminescence of 2003's must-own, career-spanning Anthology deeper into psychedelia, for good (the sublime Go-Betweens harmonies of "In the Dreamlife You Need a Rubber Soul") and ill (the sub-Bongwater satire of "Are You Really on Drugs?"......

- Pan/Tone will release his first full-length in four years, entitled Skip the Foreplay, in September. Sheldon Thompson, AKA Pan/Tone, may have one of the dorkiest names in electronic music, but that isn't stopping him from producing fashionable techno. "It's grown up. I wrote all the songs except two," said Cyrus, 15, of the new album, the first that does not play on her squeaky-clean "Hannah Montana" persona. Set for release on Tuesday, the bubbly pop CD is expected to storm record charts in North America where Cyrus ...

- Concert Review: The Unity Tour featuring 311, Snoop Dogg, and Fiction Plane
- opened up the show with their latest single, "Death Machine," in which they discuss a certain American president and his current war. And it's not a pretty picture ("Don't look so smug when we're at war / You're not the boss you're just a whore / You keep yours shoes so clean / F*** you and your death machine…"). A respectable crowd had gathered at the foot of the stage to welcome Fiction Plane, proving that they are building a fan base. - Atlas Sound Bonus Tracks Coming to U.S. Vinyl
- Photo by Shannon McClean As grand as Atlas Sound's Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel is, American listeners to Bradford Cox's solo debut were at a slight disadvantage compared to their European counterparts. The album has been available on CD from Kranky since late January on these shores, but the European version, released by 4AD in May, came bolstered with a whole bonus disc of extra tracks. Those extra tracks will finally be available in America when Kranky releases Let ...

- Q&A
- Puccini put in the Madame Butterfly opera. I, in turn, took some of Puccini's melodies and used them on Weezer's Pinkerton album. You managed to incorporate hip-hop slang like "bee-yotch" and "boo-ya" on the Red Album. What words will never be in a Weezer song? I don't like to use real swear words. Weezer came up at a time when Jane's Addiction released "Nothing's Shocking" — everyone was trying to be controversial. We looked back to rock & roll's pre-drug days — to the clean images of the Beach Boys ...

- Bonnaroo: Veterans Lesh, Helm, King Hit The Right Notes
- -and-45 minutes late, he finally materialized. West wound up performing onstage by himself, on a ramp, with big screens behind him. The crowd, which had booed for almost an hour intermittingly waiting for him to come on, was not easily won over. That wasn't an issue for blues legend B.B. King, who was presented the key to Manchester by mayor Betty Superstein prior to his set. His clean guitar tone a stark contrast to the distorted crunch of the day's modern rock outfits, King charmed the audiences ...

- The Clean - Vehicle (from Robert Christgau)
- Sporadic semipros in an Anglo enclave so remote it evades ordinary patterns of formal exhaustion, these three New Zealanders are garage Velvets--even their "eclectic" folk-rock delicacy and speed-pop buzz make the connection. Fortunately, they're too tasteful to pretend they're jaded when they're not--10 years after their first burst there's still a boyish strain about them. And if I remain utterly suspicious of garage exotica, I'm a proud sucker for this quick, hard, flat, lyrical sound--profes......

- The Clean - The Clean Compilation (from Robert Christgau)
- These Maureen Tucker fans recorded their entire output six or seven years ago in a New Zealand that considered Split Enz the cat's pyjamas, so no wonder they went for simplicity. Give them credit for some funny moments, like the doc who takes his shot before he gives you yours, but don't expect much in the way or words, because there aren't many. What they care about is droning guitar jams. Allotted a concept notch for knowing they were a groove band. Entire Lyric of Very Nice Farfisa Theme: "Ta......
