6. Why have a site dedicated to mixed tapes and cds?

Mixed tapes are a kind of creative act as well as a record of a series of decisions at a particular moment in time. It is an expression, a pastiche in which a person juxtaposes songs and sounds. The completed tape has a tone and makes a statement. Moreover, the variation between different mixed tapes is tremendous. They refract and reflect a period of time, a sense of place, emotional states, aesthetic sensibilities, etc.

There is great joy in making a mix. If you have ever killed a Saturday afternoon obessessing over what song should go next, you get it.
