The main reason Cassettes get eaten is dirty tape heads.the mechenism the tape runs on.Many electronics store may still sell tape head cleaner and demagnitising cassettes.They can also explain how to clean them and how often better them me.
CD care.I read somewhere that the avarage life of a CD would be 10 years and then they'd desintigrate.Not if you take proper care of them!Always keep your CDs in the jewel case.They get scratched easy.
Tapes Dont leave your tapes or CDs onthe car seat especially in the warmer weather.Theives are also tempted when they see stuff like CDs on the front seat.
Take Good care of your Audio media and it WILL last a LONG time!
