Recent ly I read someone making a comment about how some folks are behind the times musically.I dont think thats true. There are many like me who post mixes of oldies, classic rock and some older stuff but Thats because I enjoy sharing some of my faves.
I challenge some of you who think us older folks you think arent musically up to date to explore the beginnings are rocknroll.Consider it a history lesson.Find out where it all began and you may start to get a new appreciation for music.
When I started making mix tapes I truly got an education on the early stages of jazz when I made my dad a mix of jazz and the big band stuff.Benny Goodman,Ella, dizzy and the Duke intruduced me to the wonderful world of jazz and I wanted more.
Reggae -Everyone knows of Bob Marley as the big name in reggae.Check out some music by Harry Belafonte.Great stuff!
Soul.Motown ans Stax. The Soul sounds of the 60s and 70s truly was Soul!It was deep meaning and great to dance too. They did it with live bands too,NOT Computers!Im not knocking the current stuff.I enjoy lots of it.you can really tell the differance detween a real drumbeat and a machine drumbeam if you listen carefully. So before knocking the tunes of the past give them a listen first.Im sure your heart, mind and ears will be changed forever! You will be truly musically educated!
Groove on
In Peace and Love
