This is one of the greatest jazz mixes that I've ever heard--a free-wheeling, rollicking ride that rewards repeated listenings. The fact that so few people here bowed to its greatness is a travesty. The Derek Bailey track alone is worth the price of admission (I promptly ordered the CD from which it was culled after hearing the mix).

This is a rollickingly fun ride through surprisingly conventional (but absolutely top-notch) territory for Curtis.

I meant to post this as a favorite a month ago when I first stumbled across it... I honestly can't think of another mix that I'd be more fond of on this site, unless it's Casetta's own "Quadrophenia" mix or perhaps lo-fi jr's "Cool Brittannia" mix...

Hopper=cool. The music= Cool. The mixer=cool. Need I say more?

This is one of the most incredibly diverse and listenable compilations of songs that I've ever encountered. The sheer breadth of artists here, coupled with Orchid's absurdist, impish sense of humor and placement, makes this a beyond-fascinating (and, more importantly, super-fun) listen.
