Comment:

Here it is, that which I thought I'd never complete before the years end, my best of '07. So what, there's a lot of stuff not actually released in '07. The mix merely reflects my fave tunes from my fave albums acquired this past year & at least half of em were released in the year in question.
If I was pushed I'd say the final 3 artists represent my all time fave bands; when you consider I knew none of them 3 years ago, you can see what this site does for ones musical improvement!!! Much love to all the friends I've made these past 4 years, you know who you are.Look out for the new Dreadful Yawns album in May guys. Oh yeh title for the mix courtesy of me mother-in-law, she bought me a bottle of genuine vintage 1914 Absinithe for presenting her with a new baby grand daughter in September, dunno if the gift says more about her than me? I do however look forward to a free w/e when I can im bibe in peace and hang the consequences!!!

Welcome to 2008. As it is often said, absinthe makes the heart grow fonder. That Orgone Box song is fabulous as I suspect most of this is, wish I knew more.

Legend has it that that Van Gogh fella cut off his ear drinking Absinthe, try not to do that mon ami as Cliff sans even one lug is a thought too ghastly to contemplate.

By the same token, Absinthe caused me to fall on my face in a bar in Liverpool one night, to the soundtrack of a Frank Sinatra impersonator. Good times mon ami. I digress, this mix is intoxicating enough for me. I'm in your debt for waking me up to the Yawns ergo I need to check out the bands I've not heard on this pronto. Have a great 08 mate.

I can't say this mix is as good as a bottle of 1914 Absinithe (though it's far superior to a 1919 bottle -- what a crap year that was), but it looks pretty intoxicating to me! Is there a hidden download link anywhere?

They say absinthe makes the heart grow fonder ... for more absinthe, I suppose. But with a music addiction already, I don't need another.

Outside of Caribou, The Coral and BRMC don't know muuch about the history of these bands but I wouldn't mind a listen.

Thanks, by the way, for welcoming me to aotm
